Nividium can only be obtained in one way: You have to prospect (mobile mine) it!
As a natural but rare mineral Nividium can only be collected with the use of an Ore Collector. There is no other way to mine it in the vanilla game.
Nividium can be found only at some places in the X-Universe. It can exist as complete asteroids or as just some small fragments drifting in space. You have a good chance of finding the mineral in the following places:
It is not clear why, but Nividium is rarely found in populated sectors. Nevertheless, it can be worthwile to keep an eye on the mineral scanner for some fragments. Only the Paranid (who had an unusually strong interest in Nividium from the beginning) have a sector with a relatively large amount of Nividium: Perpetual Sin.
