You can either type them manually from your system documentation or you can use DXDiag to get a full report. The latter is generally more useful but can be pretty long. To run DXDiag, proceed as follows:
- Go to the Start menu.
- click on the Run button,
- type DXDiag into the box and hit enter.
Note: Under Windows Vista and Windows 7 the Run window can be opened using [Windowskey]+[R]. It's also possible to run DXDiag by entering DXDiag in the start menu's search and clicking on the dxdiag.exe entry.
Let it do its stuff. When it has finished, click on the Save button to create an output file, then open the file in a text editor and copy and paste the text (there will be lots of it) into your forum post.
