By default, your screenshots are saved in the folder Documents\Egosoft\X Rebirth\[your personal Steam ID]\screenshots (or Documents\Egosoft\X Rebirth\screenshots for Non-Steam versions). The files are saved in jpg format, which can be read and/or converted using an image viewer such as Paint (part of any Microsoft Windows installation) or IrfanView. The name of the screenshot includes the information when (on which day and time) the screenshot was taken.
In addition to each screenshot, a text file with the same name is created, which can be opened with any XML or text editor (like the Windows text editor). The text file includes the following pieces of information: the date of capture, the date of the X Rebirth.exe, the build number (this relates to your game version) and your position in the game when taking the screenshot. These additional pieces of information can help to reproduce a problem you're encountering. When you report a problem in the Technical Support forum, and post a screenshot, please consider posting the content of this text file too.
