This upgrade requires the Bonus Pack. If the Bonus Pack is installed it will be available to buy at Split Equipment docks.
There are two versions available, MK1 for small ships and MK2 for larger ships.
After installing the afterburner you must assign a hotkey before you can use it. You can do this in the Options menu in the Interface tab of the Controls window.
There are two functions you can assign to hotkeys, one for manual activation and one for automatic activation. Manual activation turns on the afterburner but does not change your current speed, whereas automatic activation also accelerates to your new maximum speed.
To deactivate the afterburner, just press your assigned activation hotkey again.
